What should I be concerned with since I have H Pylori

Email is creative4u2.nv@gmil.com.

My healthcare provider did not bother to mention that it is contagious. I discovered this through the internet. I understand it can be transmitted through saliva, and need to be careful about personal hygiene and food prep. I will have a full house of people for Christmas and do not want to put anyone at risk. I do live with and babysit two grandsons, and am concerned they may be affected. Also my daughter has Graves Disease, and my niece has Lupus and Celiac Disease. Are they at greater risk than others? Any further knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Stop worrying. It's ubiquitous.

Please see my page on Must REad Answers about H pylori Being Contagious.

Please stop worrying. The people you are trying to protect might have had it for years and given it to YOU. They might HAVE autoimmune disease because of undiagnosed H pylori. MOst people who have h pylori don't even know it. You might have cooked 10 Christmas dinners when you've been infected. There is no reason to do anything special. H pylori is endemic and ubiquitous. You'd go MAD trying to protect everyone before you'd actually protect anyone. EVERYONE in your family has been exposed to H pylori in the past and they will be exposed to it plenty of times in the future.

In fact, it's such an old bacteria that has been with humans for so long, that some studies consistently show it having certain BENEFICIAL effects on the body in certain people. Really, your worrying is an exercise in futility.
