Vitamin D and Rheumatoid Arthritis
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Marian,

Yes, it sounds like you are having the right test done, you are just not getting the right advice because your doctor is not used to working with vitamin d.

So, first of all, 3000 IU's is a maintenance Vitamin D Dosage of a 75 pound child- not that to treat deficiency in an adult.

So, take a look at my Vitamin D Deficiency Treatment page and you'll see that researchers (and doctors who know what they are doing) would be recommending that you AT LEAST double the dose that you are taking right now in order to get your levels up to the 'optimal' that I outline on the Vitamin D Levels page.

But since they are using ng/ml (instead of the nmol/L that you are using), you'll have to look BELOW the chart and you'll see that the MINIMUM that that researcher recommends is 115 to 128 nm/L and NOT the 70 that it says on YOUR lab sheet. That's just way to low.

Then, Rheumatoid Arthritis is NOT something that you have to have. There are MANY research studies and doctors that claim to have GREAT success GETTING RID of RA.

So, one BIG connection of RA is with gluten. Take a look at the research that I've compiled here on Rheumatoid Arthritis and a Gluten Free Diet.

Another resource for you is the Arthritis Trust. On their website they say, "You've been told that rheumatoid arthritis and other forms of arthritis are not curable. That's false!"
And their motto is "Dedicated to Eradicating Rheumatoid Disease from this earth."
