Intestistial Cystitis and Magnesium

by Barb Porter

I take

600 mg. of Calcium Citrate
300 mg. of Magnesium Citrate
1000 IU's of Vitamin D every day.

I have interstitial cystitis and can't take vitamin B complex right now nor acidic Vitamin C either.

I have intense ringing in the ears, high anxiety, high blood pressure, Heart Palpitations, intense night leg Muscle Cramps.

The 300 mg. of Magnesium has helped some but I know I need more.

I have been on a cleanse for a month for to IC and Candida. I Have to drink A LOT of water to alkalanize. How much Magnesium do I need? I KNOW I am deficient. Slowly rebuilding my ability to take supplements as I heal from the Candida. Please Help I am in a

lot of pain. Thank You, Barb Porter

P.S. I thought the ringing in the ears was heavy metals but now I really think is the Mag. Deficiency.

Hi Barb,

Yes, it sounds like you do need more magnesium. Both Heart Palpitations and Muscle Cramps as well as the anxiety and ringing in your ears could all be from Magnesium Deficiency.

So, all you need to do is follow the guidelines on the Magnesium Dosage page if you want to increase your dosage.

Then, I have talked about Interstitial Cystitis a couple of times before- one of them here at this

Interstitial Cystitis and Gluten Intolerance

thread. The other one on Interstitial Cystitis and Vitamin D I can't seem to find. But if you have not had your Vitamin D Level checked, you should. 1000 IU's is a ridiculously low dose and is not likely to be meeting your daily Vitamin D Requirements. Adequate Vitamin D Levels can boost your immune system and help you to fight off infections better.

Also, there is a substance called Vibrant Health Mannose and Botanicals U.T. Vibrance Crisis Intervention Formula, 57.25-Grams, 2.02 oz that I have written about it on a post entitled A Urinary Tract Infection Cure you can Count on. It makes the bladder wall slick so that bugs can't stick to it and some people with IC use it with great success.

Liquid Magnesium works best/powder in water
by: Anonymous

I take about 400 Mg a day of Magnesium for my cystitis in my bladder. I take a powder supplement though mixed in water called "Calm" which works. I was taking a pill and it did not work. Try the calm. I take 2 tsps a day in about 6 oz. of water. You can take more if you want and the reccomendations are on the container of how much start with and work up to. The main side effect is loose stool but I do okay on 2 tsps. without having to "run" to the bathroom so to speak. Anyhow, it helps and then eat as many green leafy organic veggies as you can everyday, I notice that helps too. Continue to do this and over time I believe my cystitis will heal. I believe once you start giving your body what it needs it will start to heal itself. I've been taking it for about 3 months now and my bladder continues to feel better and better.
