Hi Marcin,

I would LOVE to be able to tell you that as soon as you get rid of your H Pylori Bacteria that you are going to finally feel fine and be suddenly free of your depression for the first time in your life.

Unfortunately, that's not likely. Depression is a multifactorial problem that is likely to have elements of a lot of different problems- with H pylori being just one of them. You may also want to consider that you have Gluten Sensitivity. Anyone that tells me that they've had a certain problem since childhood always makes me think that it may be a Symptom of Gluten Sensitivity.

And what about other aspects of your diet? Are you eating sugar in any form? Caffeine? Artificial sweeteners? Processed foods? Those all contribute to low energy levels and depression.

I would also HIGHLY suggest that you get your vitamin D level checked. Depression is probably one of the most common Symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency.

Depression could also be a Vitamin B12 Deficiency Symptom - and that's related to gluten sensitivity.

I'm not saying that H Pylori doesn't CONTRIBUTE to depression, as I know it certainly does. What I'm saying is that you will likely need to address your depression from several different aspects. Antibiotics are not a cure for depression. It's probably not that easy, although, as I said, H pylori is likely contributing to your mood issues, it's just not likely to be the sole cause, and I can't give you hope that a 10 day antibiotic regimen is going to cure your depression.

Depression weight gain from H-pylori
by: Anonymous

H-pylori, I think does cause depression and weight gain. My tests came back inconclusive for h-pylori 2 times. Finally I asked my Dr. to just give me the antibiotics, (I had been told all of my life I was allergic to penacillin). I took 10 days of two antibiotics. On the 4th day I felt like I hadn't in years. Unfortunatley, it came back in a few weeks. I then tried amoxacillin with the clendomiacin 14 days. I can't tell you how much better I feel. I gain weight when this comes back. I know I probably had it for years. My mind is back. It causes brain fog, depression and a feeling of doom.
