Could a Lifetime of Angry Intestines be Gluten Sensitivity

by Deanna
(Florida)

I am 40 yrs old,,,i have always been a very healthy eater..only organics etc for me...suddenly..i was attacked with diverticulitis..hospitalized and now have to go get a colonscopy. over the years i have always felt ill for one reason or another...got told i have anxiety disorder, fibromyalgia..etc..

When i first started having anxiety attacks in my 20's i told the docs that it happens right after i eat..i get dizzy and just freak out. they said it could not be related. my aches, pains and exhaustion all dismissed as fibro. could gluten be the culprit..and could it cause diverticuli to form??

Either way..i'm going gluten free for awhile to see if i improve at all.... it would be a shame if i have suffered all these years and it was as simple as eliminating gluten to feel good....but a blessing if it does indeed make me feel better.

thanks for your time

Yes. Go Gluten Free
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Deanna,

Yes, I highly suggest that you do a couple month trial of being gluten free. And yes, it would be great if that were the cause of a lot of this- and you wouldn't be the first. If you read my page on Diagnosing Gluten Allergy, it takes on AVERAGE 11 years to get a diagnosis after symptoms start!

Do remember too, though, that even if gluten is your problem, it causes nutrient deficiencies and you may also have quite a few nutrient deficiencies to catch up with once you are absorbing properly again. So, don't expect it to be miraculous, but if you do start to feel better, then I'd also suggest that you take into account that many of your symptoms may also be:

and other deficiencies as well. But this could very well be the start of at least eliminating the underlying cause of your problems so you can get on the right track.
