Will I Always Be Positive for H Pylori?

by ES

I had h pylori some 20 years ago and was told that it cannot be tested with a small gadget as it will always remain positive. I resulted positive again and it was tested with this small gadget. Was the diagnoses correct please?

Thanking you.

Small Gadget?
by: Kerri Knox, The Immune Queen

I do not know what this 'small gadget' is you are talking about. The only tests that I am aware of are a blood, stool, breath, or endoscopy tests.

The blood test is the only test i am aware of that MIGHT remain positive forever. However, this is not always true. In my personal case, I was positive for H pylori at one time and later tested negative for H pylori via a blood test.

But if you are concerned, you should take an The H Pylori Stool Test and find out definitely if you have it or not. It's quite possible that you never actually got rid of it in the first place if you didn't get retested after you were treated.

Or you could have got it again. Both are possibilities.
