A few things you could try...

Hi Sara,

So, it could just be your metabolism and a shifting of things until your levels get up to normal, but there are a few things that you could try in order to reduce the effects that Vitamin D is having on you.

First of all, you may want to read why researchers recommend that you do NOT take Prescription Vitamin D in favor of taking Vitamin D3 Supplements.



I find that people seem to have more reactions to the prescription Vitamin D- and that makes sense because it is not BioIdentical to the Vitamin D in our own bodies. Vitamin D3 IS bioidentical to the Vitamin D that our bodies make.

Also, have you tried taking your Vitamin D just after dinner (with food in your stomach). Then if you get sleepy, you sleep and there are no worries about functioning the rest of the day.

Another trick that you can do, is to add up all of your dosage for the entire MONTH and take it all at once just before a weekend that you have no urgent plans and take it after dinner or right before bed, if you feel sleepy then it only happens once a month and there is not as big a problem as feeling sleepy every day. (Yes, this is ENTIRELY safe!!)

Sara, I think that once you begin to take Vitamin D3 Supplements and increase your levels to the Vitamin D Levels to normal, then these side effects will be likely to pass.
