Not a vitamin d level
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Barbara,

You are confused and so are your doctors. First of all, a 1,25 OH D is NOT NOT NOT a 'Vitamin D Level' and has nothing to do with how much vitamin d you are eating, so PLEASE STOP trying to bring your 'vitamin d level down'. If your doctor actually took your vitamin d level, you would likely be VERY deficient anyway.

I have dozens of pages on vitamin d levels and explain MANY MANY times on my site that a 1,25 OH D level is NOT a 'Vitamin D Level. Please see my page on Normal vitamin d levels.

Next, it sounds as though your doctors have looked for every reason for your calcium level to be high- except for what they SHOULD be looking for, which is parathyroid problems. Please see my page on Blood Calcium levels.
