Vitamin B12 Shots Every 3 Months

Hi my name is martina.im 43 years old. I have vitamin b12 deficiency and pre menopause.i have had 5 injections 1 a week. My next one is April 8th. every 3 months seems a long time. I asked the nurse when do I go back to my doctor to have blood taken to check my b12 again.she said she asked him and he said he don't need to check it again.
I have tingling in my finger tips. It can't be right to not need blood check and waiting 3 months for next injection. My test results said my b12 was 160.. before the injections. My stomach wont absorb b12. I take centrum for women now to. What else can I do or take.. Please help me. I also eat weetabix.. eggs. I'm not a vegetarian..
