Vitamin D Absorption
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Stephanie,

If you have a whole bunch of health issues, it's doubtful that it's something 'rare', but something EXTREMELY common that doctors just don't look for. Please see my page on Gluten Sensitivity and you'll see that HUGE numbers of people suffer for years with a whole host of diverse health issues that are due to gluten sensitivity, but that never end up getting diagnosed as due to gluten because of the lack of education by doctors.

This is not 'rare' just undiagnosed, and maybe it's a blessing that you lost insurance because your doctors would not be helping you to find a solution to most of your problems. Now you are searching on your own and you're more likely to find real answers to your problems that YOU'LL be able to fix.

As far as your vitamin d levels, what exactly do you mean by a 'megadose' and for how long did you take it? With a level of 7, it's likely that you might need close to a MILLION, yes a MILLION IU's to bring your level up to within normal limits. So, it doesn't surprise me that your level didn't come up with whatever dose your doctor gave you.

Next, please read my pages on:

Signs of Magnesium Deficiency

and

Magnesium Levels

if you have health problems already, they are almost SURELY due, in part, to magnesium deficiency. Taking your vitamin d while not taking magnesium when you already have a bunch of health problems is a recipe for disaster.

All of your questions are already answered on a page on my site, so I can tell that you didn't spend much time here reading. Please take the time to spend as much as an hour on my site reading tons of my pages and I think that you will find that your health problems have real answers with real solutions that your doctors would never have helped you with anyway...
