How Low is a Critical Low Vitamin D Level
by: Kerri Knox, RN-The Immune Queen!

Hi Deb,

Yes, your level is low. I would call it moderately low, but not critically low. It IS critical that you get it taken care of in order to prevent problems in the future and also, it sounds like, to relieve some of your Symptoms of Vitamin D Deficiency that you might be having right now- like aches, pains and fatigue.

But it can certainly wait until next week when your doctor gets back. Remember, Vitamin D Deficiency comes on very slowly, so you have probably been deficient for several years. But if you want to start getting it taken care of right away, then you can start getting out in the sun until you start on your Vitamin D Replacement from your doctor.

If you expose most of your body to the midday sun for as long as it takes to JUST BARELY GET PINK, but NOT BURNED then can get up to 20,000 IU's per day. Just be sure not to wash with soap for 2 to 3 days because it will wash off the oils that help to convert the Vitamin D. I hope that this helps and that you are feeling better with your Vitamin D Treatment. Please come back and let us know either way. And let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Hi Kerri! Thanks so much for your information. I feel a lot better since I read your reply post. I will be sure to get some sun, as we just put in a pool.

Thanks again Kerri! I really appreciate your knowledge, and your willingness to share that knowledge with others!
