H Pylori and stomah upset

by syed

I've been diagnosed with H-Pylori levels of 565. When asked 565 of what? I was told the normal range is between 50-150 and I'm way above the limit. I was also told that this bacteria is the main cause of stomach cancer. I actually had irritable bowel syndrome and after two weeks of medication my irritable bowel syndrome still remains. Now to my questions. a) Does H Pylori cause stomach cancer. b) Does H-pylori cause irritable bowel syndrome.

Also, I'm sleepy and fatigued all the time.

Treatment does not necessarily mean it's gone
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune System Queen

Treatment for H pylori does not necessarily mean that the H pylori is gone. You must be tested after treatment to make sure that the infection is gone. And this soon after treatment, you must have an H Pylori Stool Test to find out if the treatment was successful. Treatment fails 1/3 of the time, so you must get tested to find out if it was successful.

Your questions:

a) H pylori is a RISK FACTOR for stomach cancer, in the same way that smoking doesn't CAUSE lung cancer, but is a risk factor for it.

b) It can CONTRIBUTE to symptoms of IBS.

c) There are many many reasons for fatigue. H pylori CAN be one of many many causes of fatigue. The only way to know if H pylori is causing your fatigue is to eliminate H pylori and see if your fatigue is remedied
