H Pylori and Bloating

by Noelia

6 months ago my stomach began getting super bloated out of no where. I have discovered I have active H Pylori and began Pylera antibiotic therapy. I have finished the therapy 3 months ago but my belly is still so bloated and nothing I do is making it go away. Why? When will the bloat go away?

Not necessarily related

So, first of all, being TREATED for H pylori does not mean that you ERADICATED H pylori. 1/3 of all treatments fail, so unless you've tested negative after your treatment, getting treated for H pylori does not mean that you don't still have H pylori.

Secondly, even if you did get rid of H pylori, that doesn't mean that they are not necessarily related. You could have had H pylori for years, maybe even decades before you had the bloating. Experiencing bloating, then finding H pylori does not mean they have anything to do with each other.

If you're test is negative after treatment, then your bloating is probably dietary related. Possibly something like Gluten Sensitivity.
