Could Years of Suffering From Eczema be Due to H Pylori?

I am 51 and have suffered from eczema all of my life. In 1995 it found it's way to my face where it has ruined my skin. It flares up around my mouth too, but recently I'm getting hives on my forehead. When I sweat it feels like an acid bath on the eczema skin. I have eczema on the back of my legs and scrotum. It's been a real fun ride over here. I have some soreness under my breastbone and when I push in I feel fluid moving around. Like a balloon full of water. I assume It's my stomach. I'm convinced I have an ulcer or two because of the tenderness and the feeling of my stomach being swollen and enlarged. I ran across H. Pylori and I see I share many of it's symptoms. Blurred vision, depression, anxiety, eczema, sleeping problems.... My question is, is it possible all of my years of suffering could be caused by H. Pylori?

Possible H Pylori is causing some symptoms

Hi Jimbo,

Well, there is a big mistake that everyone wants to make in attributing ONE cause to all of their problems simply because they can only find one thing wrong with them (by western medical testing anyway). However, you don't even KNOW if you have H pylori yet. I would suggest that you at least start by getting tested first, then getting rid of H pylori and seeing if there is any improvement.

So, first, you should get tested and IF you do have H Pylori, then I would suggest that you get my book The H Pylori Solution so that you can know and understand all of your options first before you start any treatment regimen.

Now, back to the eczema. Since you have had the eczema for SOOOOOO long, I am betting that at least part of your problem is Gluten Sensitivity. Gluten sensitivity can not only lead to a wide variety of skin conditions, but it can cause inflammation and damage in your digestive tract that can then lead to getting intestinal infections such as H pylori or any of the other many intestinal bugs that can contribute to health problems.

The very first thing that I think of when someone tells me that they've had any health problem 'for as long as they can remember' or 'ever since they were a kid', I automatically suspect gluten sensitivity. It's the root cause of MANY of today's health problems, and a trial elimination of gluten may help alleviate any number of health problems. It's always worth a try to eliminate gluten to see if that might help with the severity or even the complete elimination of any health problems.

The end of H.Pylori ended my eczema

I developed eczema rather suddenly a number of years back and had it for nearly three years. I felt I was doomed to a life with the disease. I had it on my chest and it started to move to my neck and up towards my chin. I had some eczema on my legs too. At the same time, I had acid reflux, but I had it for 15 years. It came and went, kind of like a cold. It would bother me and then go away. Then this one day, I had a severe episode of acid reflux which caused me to go to my doctor. He said he would test me for H.Pylori. As it turned out, I tested positive. He prescribed antibiotics specifically for H.Pylori. I took it for two weeks (14 days)and amazingly, it seemed to get rid of my eczema. I told my doctor and he didn't think the antibiotics for h.pylori had anything to do with it. However, to this day I am convinced that the bacteria was behind my getting eczema. Granted, I had acid reflux for 15 years. However, maybe it took a while to cause my eczema.
