could I have a false negative blood test?

by roslina

Thank you for your informative website.

I had an h pylori infection for the last 5 months, I was only diagnosed last July through a biopsy. I chose to treat my infection through diet along with natural remedies. I felt much better but still have some symptoms as I had a gastritis too.

Recently, I decided to go check with a blood test since I was not treated with antibiotics and the results came back 'negative.'

Should I take these result for granted or should I double-check with another test? as I read on the net that sometimes if the immune system is weak there might not be enough antibodies to show on a blood test.

Get a stool test

Sure. If you feel that the test was incorrect, you could get a stool test to see if you, indeed, are infected or not. Unless you have a very serious immune problem, it's unlikely you are so ill as to not be able to show any antibodies, but if you want to double check, there is certainly no harm in checking another way.

You can get an In Home H Pylori Stool Test Here.
