Skin Conditions and Gluten Sensitivity
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Rochelle,

Yes, I believe that you are on the right track. ANY chronic skin conditions could be related to Gluten Sensitivity. And the fact that she has a high ANA is worrisome because this is indicative that there may be some autoimmune processes going on that could turn into an autoimmune disease at some point in her life.

It would be great if the doctors would test her for Celiac Disease, but Diagnosing Gluten Allergy is not always very accurate.

But my thoughts about it are that if she's POSITIVE, then great, you'll actually have a medical diagnosis for her. But if she's negative, then ignore the findings and give a Gluten Intolerance Diet a try to see if it helps.

But either way, if your daughter is willing to give it a try, it would be certainly worth a trial of a couple of months to see if she would benefit.
