B12 Makes Me Ill

by Melissa
(New Jersey)

My name is Melissa and I was diagnosed almost four years ago with Fibromyalgia. I had my youngest at 42. He was unplanned and unexpected. During my pregnancy I was very ill. With Low blood pressure, low heart rate, I only gained 7 lbs, had abdominal surgery at about 23 weeks, was in the hospital and on morphine for about a week and the list goes on.

ok now that you know what I believe caused this stupid disorder....I really wanted to ask if you knew why B12 would give me terrible abdominal pains, nausea en diarrhea?

I take most of the supplements you advice and plan to add the two I don't already take and possibly discard others that I take. You see my stomach has never been able to handle large doses of supplements. Even the ones I take now I have to skip some days in order to make things easier for my stomach.

My doctor took me off of b12 close to a year ago. My doctor is a good listener keeps track of my vitamin D levels and has checked my thyroide again and again.

I eat clean, organic, non GMO, gluten free food. I only drink water, herbal tea and green tea. I don't normally sweeten tea but sometimes I use raw honey in my green tea. I eat lots of vegetables, use coconut oil, and raw vinegar for cooking.
However I have no energy, constant migraines and do nothing but gain weight.

I would love to try all of the supplements you advice in hopes of feeling better and getting control over my weight. However I don't want to be ill from the b12.

MTHFR

Hi Melissa,

There are a couple of possibilities here. It might be the B12 that you are taking. B12 should be taken SUBLINGUALLY, so it should not even be hitting your stomach to bother it!

Next, if you are already taking sublingual, what KIND are you taking? Not all B12 is the same, and EVERYONE should always take Methylcobalamin B12. If you are taking any other type, why are you taking that kind when it has been removed from the market in several countries?

Next, you could have the MTHFR Gene. This is very common in those with chronic health problems, and those people need to take MTHFR Safe Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid Supplements.

Next, you probably have chronic stomach problems from serious Increased Intestinal Permeability from the massive stress you've experienced in life.
