About 1 million units so far..

If you have been taking 50,000 IU's every day for the past 3 weeks, then you have taken just about one million units of Vitamin D.

There HAS been research done on this amount in healthy young men and there were no toxicities. HOWEVER, that IS a lot of Vitamin D, and it is almost A SURE THING that over time - how MUCH time will be different for everyone- you WILL become toxic at that dose!!

You absolutely need to drop back to a 'Maintenance Dose' of Vitamin D of between 3500 to 5000 IU's per day until you know what your Vitamin D Level is.

That is GREAT that you are getting relief from your pain- wuhoo!! But you don't want to cause WORSE problems because you took too much!!

There is also a lot of evidence that peripheral nerve issue can benefit from Vitamin B-12 and that the nerve problems might be a result of the Vitamin B 12 deficiency.

So, PLEASE do not take Vitamin D 50,000 IU per day unless you are getting regular Vitamin D levels by your doctor. This is NOT a safe dose to be taking for long periods of time without being monitored closely!
