Vitamin D and Arteriosclerosis
by: Kerri Knox, RN-The Immune Health Queen!

Certainly EXCESS vitamin d can cause problems with the body absorbing TOO MUCH calcium and possibly contributing to the laying down of calcium in abnormal parts of the body such as the arteries- as well as putting excess strain on the kidneys.

But Vitamin D in normal therapeutic doses seems to PREVENT heart disease according to most research. In almost every study done, adequate amounts of vitamin d seem to lower death rates from many different causes- including heart disease.

Interestingly, AS I was responding to you, I received this Email from a forum that I belong to.

"The link between osteoporosis and vascular calcification is finally becoming more widely recognized. I have been stressing this link for over 35 years and it might seem that everyone should be supplementing with Vitamin K-2 from age 20 on IF you believe This Review of the Vitamin D Involvement in this PATHOLOGIC CALCIFICATION process.

However, it would appear that if everyone were optimizing their Vitamin K status particularly K-2, we would be putting orthopedic surgeons and cardiologists out of work so we need to be careful to not make this supplement mandatory for
people purchasing health insurance, as hospitals need the business that weakened bones and hardened arteries brings them.

I have written extensively on all aspects of our need to maintain strong bones and soft arteries for over 30 years. There are many important aspects beyond Vitamin D such as balancing the CA/Phosphorus dietary intake, which leads to the
need to lower the intake of excess phosphorus from soft drinks and many other vital components including exercising and Vitamin D Supplements, etc.

I have added many bone support nutrients to the product from Longevity Plus called Beyond Bone Defense, which really needs to be called Beyond Heart and Bone. This review of Vitamin K-2, which is such a vital part of the story needs to be widely circulated and we can really lower health care costs for our country and add healthy, productive years to our lifespan."
