Low Vitamin D can Cause Painful Legs

I have been experiencing tingling in my hands and burning, sore leg muscles, pain in my feet and a malaise type of feeling each day. My doctor, after reading my blood tests said I was low in Vitamin D. She suggested I take 5000 units of Vit. D /day. Do you feel this will stop my bad symptoms?

Thank you.
