Thank God For Neighbors.

My Gluten Free Story officially starts in late April 2010. But for years prior I suffered anytime I ate anything breaded or battered and battled an ongoing, terrible, itchy skin rash on my arms. I love to cook and "used to" cook anything and everything that sounded good at the moment.

Then as time went on, I was constantly very bloated and had constant stomach pain...not to mention gaining approximately twenty pounds over about four years. I became very self conscious and depressed because of this. Doctors were thinking I had skin cancer on my arms and perhaps a thyroid problem. Whatever.

I quit going to them. I KNEW that was not the problem. Back to my title of this story. My neighbor gave me a stack of about ten magazines. Out of the ten I picked up one and low and behold there was a large article about being gluten intolerant! I could not believe my eyes- everything there was what I had been experiencing! What were the chances of me picking up that ONE magazine?

Anyway, I have been about 95% Gluten Free now for 6 weeks and feel so different, it's amazing. Still learning and experimenting...I learn real quick now what foods to stay away from...:(. I have lost five pounds. Can't wait to see what will happen with losing weight in the months to come.
I hope that anyone that relates to this reads what i have had to say and that it HELPS.

I feel like a different person, no kidding.

BETTER BY THE DAY
by: PHOEBEE

I year ago I became very ill after a surgery.I had dx. of fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, arthritis, Sjogren's, vitiligo, and interstitial cystitis, AMD, connective tissue disorders, hives, and a lg. list of issues that I thought were just "AUTOIMMUNE."

I was also massively overweight. This is when I became desperate enough to see a naturopath. She tested me for numerous allergies and found that I was very GLUTEN INTOLERANT. I chose to go gluten free from that day forward and in that year my fibromyalgia is gone, hypothyroid of 40 yrs. is gone, arthritis is gone, Sjogren's is gone, hives gone, vitiligo clearing and connective tissue issues resolving and the interstitial cystitis is gone and I have lost 30 lbs. in the process.

There is only one CLEAR ANSWER AS TO HOW SO MANY ISSUES COULD RESOLVE WHEN ONLY ONE DIETARY CHANGE WAS MADE: GLUTEN.

I pray that this has helped someone. There is no need to live a life of misery. And it is fun to learn to cook w/o gluten. Not to mention feeling so much better.
