You're just not taking enough..

Hi JK,

I think that you really need to read my page on Vitamin D Requirements. While it's great that you were taking 2000 IU's of vitamin D per day for years, how did you come to the conclusion to take that particular dosage? It was likely fairly random or based on the USRDA which has no basis in reality.

So, researchers suggest that most adults need between 3800 to 5000 IU's per day. So, if you took 2000 IU's per day for 'years' that is a relative deficit of about 3000 IU's per day. Which means that you needed probably about one MILLION IU's per YEAR more than you actually got!!

Yipes! And you wonder why you are so deficient with a million IU's per year less than you actually need.

So, while magnesium is a factor, it's not that there is anything inherently 'bad' or ineffective about magnesium oxide, it's just that it absorbs less- and just like vitamin d, you are probably taking a 'random' amount that has nothing to do with your actual bodily needs.

So, I suspect that there are a LOT of issues that are not being addressed in your life and that the hormone imbalances that you are experiencing are likely, in part, due to:

Adrenal Gland Fatigue

Gluten Sensitivity

and a generally poor diet (even if you believe that your diet is good or even great, I would likely cringe if you told me how you eat).

So, there is almost certainly a LOT that you can improve upon to finally feel better- and it's unlikely that any help will come from your doctor or standard lab testing if it hasn't in the many years that you've been feeling bad.
