14 pounds just by avoiding gluten??!!
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Cindi,

Yeah!! 14 pounds just by avoiding gluten! That is amazing and I wish that more people would understand the power of avoiding gluten. Just getting off of gluten could alleviate SO much suffering in the world. That sounds totally dramatic, as if not eating gluten is a savior of sorts- but it really is. I have seen such dramatic changes in people's health when they avoid gluten.

OK. Now, about your 'sinus infection'. While most people, like you did, trust your doctor that a 'sinus infection' is somehow this awful bacterial thing that needs to be treated with antibiotics, etc, the fact is that the VAST majority of sinus infections are actually FUNGAL infections (hence the reason why people get course after course of antibiotics and they still have chronic sinus infections).

And the reason that most people get fungal sinus infections is due to poor drainage from the sinuses- kind of like when you take warm steamy showers day after day and don't ventilate the room and later you find mold growing on the walls.

Your bathroom doesn't need antibiotics and it doesn't have an 'infection'. It needs ventilation every time you take a shower and some clean water to wash the mold off the walls.

So, most 'sinus infections' actually respond EXTREMELY well to sinus irrigation, occasionally with a very gentle antimicrobial - no antibiotics required.

So, while eating gluten may have contributed to some of the inflammation and irritation that led to the beginnings of the 'sinus infection', the real problem is poor drainage. Let some air flow in through regular nasal irrigation and your problem will likely be solved...

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Kerri... I Bing-ed gluten intolerance to find more backup info to convince hubby my point of view on avoiding gluten, (we've not been officially found to be sensitive, but why take the chance), and there was a link to your fantastic and informative website. Thorough and useful information, addressing the basic concerns in life, with respect to optimum health and longevity. Much appreciation; signed up for your newsletter.

Thanks again, Tina
