MY COMMENTS AFTER 15 DAYS WITHOUT GLUTEN

by MOHAMMAD ANWAR
(PAKISTAN)

I am old patient of depression, feeling severe fatigue, sadness, tension in muscles, headache, anxiety, lack of concentration / memory, unnecessary stress, back / muscles pain etc.

After reading your articles. I started to avoid completely wheat and other gluten foods last 15 days, I feel my motion started some normal level - previous a lot of fat discharged from motion. But I think no effect in depression etc. as described above.

Can you help me about this? are there 15 days not enough for diagnose ?

Thank you in advance for your kind reply.

Regards
Mohammad Anwar

15 days is not enough...
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Mohammed,

I'm very glad that you are trying out a gluten free diet. 15 days, however, is not a very long time to correct all of these problems though, so be patient.

I usually recommend that people try out a Gluten Free Diet for at least 2 months before they can know whether it works for them or not.

It sounds like you are already getting some benefits from it, but also remember that if you really do have gluten sensitivity that you have not been absorbing nutrients (especially fat soluble nutrients) for many many years.

You are not going to correct years and years of malabsorption of nutrients by not eating a food for a couple of weeks. You may need up to a year or even longer without gluten to correct all of the nutrient deficiencies and other problems that you may have from that before you are feeling great again.

So, be patient and check back in a few months with any questions that you might have. This is a long-term solution and not a quick fix.

My comment about GF diet
by: Ashley Mahaffey

I'm such a big fan of GF diet. It started four years ago when I figured out my infant son was reacting to gluten. He was GF for the first 3 years of his life and we still maintain a high rate of being GF in our home. As a personal trainer, I've implemented a GF diet plan and menu guide for my clients and they not only feel better, they've leaned down.
