Magnesium Vitamin D

by Scott
(Dartmouth, MA)

My Vitamin D level is 17.2, I'm 54 and a male. My doctor wants me to take 50,000 units of Vitamin D once a week for 12 weeks. How much magnesium should I take daily with this? Is it better to take Vitamin D and Magnesium daily or as prescribed by the doctor?

Thanks for your help,

Scott

Kind of magnesium NEW

What kind of magnesium do I take? I am not retaining D and am osteopenia. I will start adding magnesium and D, but what kind of magnesium?

That's the point

That's the point. There is no ratio. You follow the protocol on the page that I sent you to for magnesium, and you get your vitamin d level to optimal levels. There is no 'ratio'. That's why I don't give a ratio of the two.

Mg/vitD ratio

Ms. Knox;
I'm also looking for the exact ratio of magnesium to take with each IU of vitamin D. The page you reference doesn't really give that information. It mainly just says take a whole lot of magnesium. Can you give an actual ratio?

Hi Scott,

I've answered these questions on the Vitamin D Therapy page.
