At risk for osteoporosis and heart disease...
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

I'm Sooo glad that you wrote in now instead of 10 years from now because you have fallen hook, line and sinker for the 'party line' of how to stay healthy and prevent osteoporosis and heart disease.

So, first of all, you have fallen for the 'Women Get Osteoporosis because they don't get enough calcium' myth and you have put yourself at HIGHER risk for osteoporosis because of it.

So, taking 1500 Mg of calcium is WAY too much. American women have one of the highest rates of osteoporosis in the world, yet we have the highest rates of osteoporosis too! You actually don't build bones from calcium- and the fact that in countries like Japan and Peru, where they get WAY less calcium than American women, their osteoporosis rates are almost nonexistent. See my page on Calcium with Magnesium to see why it's SOO important to take magnesium and vitamin d is actually more important.

So, your Heart Palpitations clearly indicate that you are magnesium deficient. There is no formula for how much to take, so simply follow the instructions on the Magnesium Dosage page to get 'enough' to stop your heart palpitations and to saturate your cells.

You should ALSO have your vitamin d level checked. Part of the problem with osteoporosis is that without both magnesium and vitamin d you don't ABSORB calcium- so all the calcium that you are taking is going right down the drain because you are not getting enough magnesium and vitamin d.

You said that you are taking about 400 IU's of vitamin d and I imagine that your doctor has told you that is plenty- but he's completely wrong. Researchers say that your Vitamin D Requirements are probably more than 10 Times that dosage and 400 IU's/day has probably left you EXTREMELYdeficient- PLEASE get a vitamin d level then check the Vitamin D Therapy page in order to get the right dosage.

Then lastly, you MUST stop both the coffee and the artificial sweeteners which are Causes of Heart Palpitations!!

Let me know if you have any questions. I've run out of room to elaborate....
