Calcium and Vitamin D
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen

Hi April,

Yes, the aches and pains that you are experiencing COULD be from Vitamin D Deficiency. Even though your Vitamin D Level is not super low, studies show that even people with VERY MILD vitamin D Deficiency can get aches and pains.

But, as there could be many causes of your aches and pains, you should always get a full medical workup in order to rule out anything more serious.

As far as tanning is concerned, you live in Ohio- which is above 37 degrees latitude- and therefore will only be able to get Vitamin D from about April to September or October. Throughout the winter, even if it is sunny, you aren't making any Vitamin D!

As far as you having calcium deposits on your organs from taking Calcium and Vitamin D together- it is unlikely. But if you are concerned, you should always follow up with your doctor and express your concerns to him.
