Blood Tests and Sunscreen

by Belinda
(Australia)

Have been reading your ebook and thank you for the info as i had a million questions before and not so many now.

I live in Australia and with summer coming i am wondering about SUNSCREEN? Should i use it or not?

How about swimming in chlorine pools???

I have recently come back with excessive iron in my blood although i do not meat and in the past was always iron defient? Is this related?

One more question, i have had to increase my thyroid medication since taking Levaquin? Is this related as well?

Thanking you,
Belinda

Lots of Questions...
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Belinda,

That's a lot of questions. Many of which I have no good answers for.

As far as sunscreen is concerned, you'll have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself because this is a VERY contentious topic for which many smart people have very differing opinions on.

This subject is seriously an ebook in an of itself that I could go on and on about for several chapters and I'm far from an authority about it.

Probably one of the only arguments that ALL sides in the sunscreen/sun exposure debate agree upon is that, whatever you do, you MUST avoid sun burns as that absolutely does increase your risk of skin cancer.

As far as swimming in chlorinated pools, that's a tough one also. As far as I know, you need to stay away from FLUORIDE and not chlorine. Chlorine certainly can't be good for you and is best avoided in most circumstances, but I can't say whether it will aggravate your condition or not.

Now, about your thyroid. Interestingly, the thyroid is EXTREMELY sensitive to flouride and that could be the reason why you are having problems since taking Levaquin. The 'antidote' to flouride in your thyroid is Iodine, so you may also be interested in taking a look at a product called Nascent Iodine and or taking a look at the book Iodine- Bringing Back the Universal Medicine to see how to use iodine for health and why it's important.

Make sure that you are also taking the selenium that I mentioned, as adequate selenium is imperative for thyroid health.

I know that this probably created more questions than answers, but there are just simply no definitive answers for many of your questions and much of this program is going to be seeing what works for you the best.
