Yes, yes. I think that you are on the right track with magnesium!! Yeah, I'm glad that your friend told you about it.

So, if the CVS brand (which is likely magnesium oxide) gives you Side Effects of Magnesium, magnesium taurate might be better, but you won't know until you try it.

If it DOES still give you loose stools, then you can do a few things at the same time.

You CAN take the epsom salt baths in the form of Magnesium Bath Flakes. And I have instructions how to do that on my Epsom Salt Uses page.

AND

You can get Transdermal Magnesium Gel and simply use that like lotion. It absorbs the magnesium right through your skin just like the epsom salts do.

What's nice about it, is that you can keep a bottle with you at school or work and keep reapplying throughout the day as needed. Some people who are REALLY REALLY magnesium deficient (as I suspect you are) just seem to not be able to tolerate magnesium by mouth. But you'll soon see.

You can also use a product called Angstrom Magnesium that Dr. Carolyn Dean recommends and that has a fewer digestive side effects when you take it. So, you have lots of choices.
