How Long Do You Test Positive for H Pylori in the Blood

by Lori

I tested positive for H Pylori about nine years ago. I took the crazy round of medicines for two weeks and my symptoms really seemed to improve. But throughout the time after taking the medicine I still had a decent amount of trouble with diahrea. My problems have really flared up ove rthe last few months. I've had diahrea, and strange sudden weight gain, crazy bloating that made me think I was pregnant again, and fatigue that wasn't explainable. Several doctors said IBS. But then one doctor did blood work for H pylori, since I had it once before. I tested positive.

My question is, I have some confusion about this test. What I have heard from several doctors and from reading on the Internet is that once you test positive your blood test will always read "positive". But, is that true even with an amount of time equaling about nine years? I've read some contradicting things saying that it stays in your blood for several years after treatment. I'm not sure if I truly have H.Pylori or if this test wasn't the best one to use. Should I take the round of medicine again? Thank you!

Once You Test Positive for H Pylori Will You Always Test Positive?

If you think that it might be wrong, then simply get an H Pylori Stool Test to know for sure.

And be sure to get my book, H Pylori Solution, to see how to stop getting H Pylori back again.
