Can there be something more besides H-Pylori and IBS?

I've been suffering from abdominal pain, heartburn, bloating and constipation for about two years. Usually these symptoms would come and go, but in the last half year they have become more and more severe, until I went to a doctor. I've been found to have a H-Pylori infection, which after two weeks of antibiotics, turned out negative in a stool test.

The abdominal pain has disappeared. I am now avoiding things that recently only have been giving me heartburn, like coffee. However the bloating and constipation are still giving me hell. I was diagnosed with IBS, and tried all sorts of remedies, from drugs to laxative teas and charcoal tablets, but nothing works. After three months of severe abdominal distension and constipation, I am getting more and more irritable and quite depressed. I am on a very healthy diet, I exercise, I don't feel stressed, I am young in my late 20's, and have no other health problems that I know of. What could be the cause of it?

Thanks,
Maria

IBS is not a diagnosis, it means that they don't know what's wrong

Hi Maria,

So, first things first, the fact that you have been diagnosed with IBS MEANS that there IS something else going on. IBS is a 'junk' diagnosis that means, "We don't know what's wrong with you, but you have some bowel issues and you'll just have to live with it". IBS really means nothing more than that. It's NOT a disease... and you DON'T have to 'live with it'. There is something causing your IBS, you just have to figure out what it is and it's probably a combination of your diet and some other pathogens in your gut.

So, pathogens. It's almost certain that you have some 'bugs' in your intestinal tract that are causing at least some of your problems. I would highly suggest that you take a look at my Comprehensive Intestinal Pathogen Test. You can get it 'Without H Pylori' if you wish, but it's likely that you have any number of other bugs, most people have at least one type of parasite if they are still having symptoms.

Next, your diet. I KNOW that you are NOT eating healthy because you said, "I eat healthy'. 100% of the people that I work work who tell me that they 'eat healthy' actually are eating horrible. The ONLY clients that I have who actually DO eat healthy tell me exactly what their diet IS. They will say, "I am a raw vegan" or "I follow the Weston A. Price diet" or "I follow a strict Paleolithic Diet", etc.

So, if you are not 'following' a particular diet, then it's likely that you are eating by the government food pyramid and you are eating absolutely totally UN-healthy and you need to GREATLY work on your diet. So, the first thing that I would suggest is that you get the The Healthy Urban Kitchen and follow the instructions there. You should also read ALL of my information on Gluten Sensitivity. If you have IBS, then you ARE gluten sensitive until proven otherwise.

This is just a start, there are MANY MANY other things that you can do to start overcoming your IBS and the health problems that you are having.
