Lanolin and dosages
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Stacy,

As far as lanolin is concerned, if you are not allergic to it, then don't worry about it. If you are allergic to lanolin, then you MAY have problems taking it and you'll want to consider getting a fish-oil based Vitamin D or just get plenty of sun... You can see my discussion on this on the Vitamin D From Lanolin page.

As far as vegetarians are concerned, if you'll wear wool then it's not a problem. They don't kill the animal to obtain the vitamin d or lanolin. They simply get it from the wool. If this is a problem for you, then getting sun is the good way, but if you need supplements, you can use this Vitamin D3 From Algae. It's the only vegan Vitamin D supplement that I can recommend.

As far as dosage, I've answered that THOUSANDS of times on this site. Please see my page on Vitamin D Therapy and follow the instructions.

D3
by: Cheryl

Sunlight makes wonderful D3. Doctors are fools for telling their patients to stay out of the sun and always wear sunglasses. The sun can make sufficient D3 in 20 minutes. Put on a bikini and spend 20 minutes on your back and 20 minutes on your belly. Plus the uv rays from sunlight travel down your optic nerve and energizes the Hypothalamus. So no sunglasses unless in the snow or at the beach. And no sunscreen except when at the beach.
