What are the consenquences if not treated for h pylori

My daughter lives with me and I have been diagnosed with h pylori, do I need to get her tested as well? I'm on Cipro 500 mg and pepto besmol tablets and omeprazole 40 mg. Sense I have been taking this my throat hurts and my neck is sore to the touch. I'm more miserable than before.

Anything from nothing to cancer

The consequences of not being treated for H pylori is anything from nothing, to getting stomach cancer. People can have H pylori for decades without having any problems, or it can give you stomach cancer or a host of any number of problems in between which you may or may not get. Everyone is different. Just like smoking your entire life may cause no problems at all, or it could cause lung cancer. It's a risk factor for health problems, but having a risk factor does not necessarily cause any diseases.

As far as getting your daughter tested, well, that's up to her if she is an adult, but if she does have it and doesn't get treated, then she can end up giving it back to you. So, you'd have to go through this all over again.

As far as the treatment that you are receiving, sometimes you have to feel worse to feel better. Getting rid of a serious infection can create toxins that make you feel terrible. A small price to pay for feeling better in the long run. However, some antibiotics like Cipro, can cause long term health problems and superinfections that can lead to even worse health problems.
