You're Right...
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Heather,

You're right on both accounts. You ARE pretty low and you SHOULDN'T take that Prescription Vitamin D.

You can simply replace the 50,000 IU's a week with the exact same amount of Vitamin D3 Supplements. Most D3 supplements don't come in that high of a dose in one pill, so you can just simply take 10 of the 5000 IU Vitamin D3 Supplements per week.

You can spread them out or take them all at once, it's not important. What your doctor DIDN'T tell you, however, is that you will also be depleting your magnesium stores in the process and putting yourself at risk for some side effects in the process. So, be sure to read my page on Magnesium and Vitamin D to see why it's SO important to take Magnesium Supplements along with high dose vitamin d.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Please read the page on Vitamin D Therapy and you'll see while your dose is the TINYEST bit over the 'standard' dose, you could take up to 50,000 IU's per DAY for periods of time up to a month and it would be well within the treatment range.

But please see the page on Prescription Vitamin D to see why you should consider NOT taking the prescription.
