vitamin D and scattred mind with up down hormon deficiency

Does low or almost no vitamin D have anything to do with hormone levels such as:

estrogen

testosterone and

dhea levels ?

My struggles began at the age of 23-25. At 25 I was told that I was starting menopause. At 29 I had surgery and kept 1 ovary.. now at age 49 struggle with hormones, and vitamin D.
I have been told by 4 plus doctors your levels does not match your body..

I have been on 50,000 units of vitamin D once a week. for 8 weeks and now doing 50,000 a week for 12 weeks.

Help ! confused and very tired.. and aging fast..my life story began in 1985 and still going down some of the same roads, with a few more problems added..

I think that you have Celiac Disease
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

I'm so sorry to hear about your issues. But I think that you may have Celiac Disease and your doctors simply just haven't looked for it.

Anytime anyone has such severe health problems at a young age, I always suspect Celiac Disease. It has been called The Great Imitator and is a HUGE problem. Take a look at the Celiac Disease Research page and be sure to read the page that is highlighted yellow and says "You've got to read this".

It's a study that shows that Celiac Disease is often an imitator of other diseases. You can talk to your doctor to get tested, but if you read the Diagnosing Gluten Allergy to see why that may be a futile problem.

So, I believe that the reason that you have problems with Vitamin D Absorption and hormonal issues is that your gut can't absorb anything! You need nutrients to make hormones!!

So, I believe that it's likely that you are probably deficient in lots of other nutrients too (have you had your thyroid checked?), but you will never resolve any of these problems until you figure out WHY you have these problems and to do something about it.

I hope that this helps.

Vitanin D and Hormone Deficiency
by: Anonymous

I am not a medical professional, but I know from personal experience that vitamin D deficiency can cause severe menopausal symptoms. I am now age 50, but my vitamin D deficiency was discovered at age 48 when I was suffering from fatigue, weight gain, muscle and bone pain and severe mood swings, hot flashes and night sweats.

Now that my vitamin D level is back to normal, I am experiencing just the normal menopausal symptoms for a 50-year-old woman; they are minor and tolerable.

testosterone and vitamin D
by: Anonymous

Thought I'd pop on here and say that low testosterone absolutely plays a role In malabsorption of vitamin D. I started testosterone replacement therapy 2 months ago, and after being on vitamin D replacement therapy for 3 years( Taking 100,000 international units a week), My vitamin D suddenly shot up to 46. I haven't been able to get it over 20 in all that time. I'm a 39 year old male btw.
