Very High Vitamin B12 Levels and Not Taking Supplements

by kyla

My concern is my b12 levels are very high. Calcium levels low. Low iron

I have had ongoing neurological symptoms, tests (MRI, emg etc) came back normal.
Abnormal reflexes, carotid bruit, low iron levels.
Muscle spasms, choking on food, difficulty swallowing, slurred speech.
I am told it is not a neurological problem due to normal EMG results.

Can these blood test results lead to finding any issues that may be there that are being overlooked.

MTHFR Genetic Mutation and Gluten Intolerance
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune System Queen

it sounds like your doctor has not been doing a very good job at helping you. Low iron and low calcium levels indicate malabsorption and are classic symptoms of Celiac Disease and/or Gluten Sensitivity. Also, if you have HIGH vitamin B12 levels, you should be tested for the MTHFR Gene Mutation which makes you unable to absorb Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid, and makes you require the form of Vitamin B12 called Methylcobalamin B12 and Methylfolinic Acid like I carry in Beyond B12 just for that reason, because so many people have the MTHFR gene that requires these forms of these vitamins.

You should have your Vitamin D levels tested as well, and your muscle spasms and some other symptoms are almost certainly due to low magnesium that Magnesium Blood Levels are not going to catch. It sounds like your health management has been strikingly poor, and you are going to need to start being your own health advocate.
