Source of Vit D3 that's not from Lanolin

1) I am ALLERGIC to lanolin and I understand that the 2 sources of Vit D3 are Lanolin and Fish oil. I have had 2 episodes recently that the Supplement Companies (Metagenics AND GNC) gave me 2 different answers as to the SOURCE of THEIR Vit D3. How can I be sure that I get the Vit D3 FROM the FISH OIL Source?
ALSO ---

2) I was recently told that I could take Vit D3 tablets from lanolin BECAUSE It is extracted from lanolin, BUT there is no lanolin in it. This does not make sense to me because since it is gotten FROM the lanolin. How could ALL the lanolin -- as its source of the product be eliminated? I am not a chemist, BUT I am trying very hard to get CORRECT information. I do NOT want to get any internal, intestinal, inflammatory symptoms that would be very difficult --if not impossible----- to correctly diagnose.
Thank you so much for your help !!!

A SURE source that's not from lanolin...
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

If the supplement companies are unable to give you a 100% sure answer, then there is no way that I possibly could.

But YES, it IS possible that there could be zero lanolin in a product that is extracted from lanolin. Many hard alcohols like whiskey are made from Rye, yet because the components of the rye are distilled out, whiskey IS safe for people on a Gluten Intolerance Diet.

But just because its POSSIBLE for it to be free of lanolin doesn't mean that it IS free of lanolin and unless the companies can send you a guarantee that it is free of lanolin, then you'll either have to trust them and try it out or not trust them.

I can see why that would be frustrating. I don't have a good answer for you about that.

Fortunately, I do have a 100% Lanolin free source of Vitamin D that you can get. Dr' Mercola's site sells a Vitamin D Producing In-Home Tanning Bed that may just be your best solution to avoid any problems.

Even if you got independant testing of someone's product, there is no guarantee that they won't change suppliers and not tell you- so that is my solution.

Take a look because he has several different models and can even be hung from the back of a closet. It's possible that they can even be a tax write off- but be sure to ask your tax preparer.

So, that is my 100% guaranteed to be lanolin free vitamin d solution for you. Hope that this helps!!

Non-lanolin D3
by: K

The company 'Solgar' makes a D3 supplement that is derived from Fish Oils not lanolin.

It is a softgel form and I know Kerri recommends dry but as you've already mentioned most of the dry comes from lanolin.
