Negative H Pylori Blood Test

I have been tested twice for H pylori through blood tests and have never gotten a call from my doctor; therefore assuming the tests are negative. However I have horrible heartburn and burp all the times after eating and drinking. I am super tired of this and want to this to end. I also feel that my breathe can get bad in the evening. I have been taking heartburn medication for almost 3 years and still get heartburn on a regular basis.

Could I possibly have H pylori infection and it just didn't show upon the blood test?

I also wonder cause my daughter gets some burping and reflux as well and I would really like to figure this out.

Don't assume

Don't assume the tests are negative, just call your doctor and find out for sure if they are negative or not.

But if your tests are truly negative, then you do not have H pylori. The blood test for H pylori is quite accurate if it's NEGATIVE. The blood test is only a worry if you have had H pylori in the past and you get retested since it can show a false POSITIVE and you might continue to get treated for H pylori when you do not still have the infection.

However, a negative blood test is a negative blood test and you can be pretty confident you don't have it.

So, you need to start considering that you have other problems. A couple of possibilities are that you have:

Gluten Sensitivity

and/or

a condition of low stomach acid called Hypochlorhydria.

I know that it's counterintuitive to think that you might have LOW stomach acid when your symptoms seem like they are a problem of HIGH stomach acid, but the opposite is actually true, and most people with symptoms of heartburn or acid stomach actually have problems of LOW stomach acid.
