by Julie

I have just been diagnosed with h pylori for a second time this year. I am feeling really run down, should i be asking my gp for further tests? I am a 42yr old year old woman.

Not sure what you think that you should be tested for...
by: Kerri Knox, Registered Nurse

Hi Julie,

I'm not sure what you think that you need to be tested for. You have H pylori and you need to get rid of it. In fact, unless you tested negative after the first time that you were treated, you may not have H pylori 'again', but you might very well 'still' have H pylori. Since antibiotic treatment fails up to a third of the time, and some people take antibiotic treatment up to 4 times in order to get rid of it, it's just as likely that you never got rid of it in the first place or that someone in your household gave it back to you.

I highly suggest that you get my book The H Pylori Solution to learn about the many reasons why antibiotic treatment fails, why you get H pylori back again, and how to avoid these common problems so that you get rid of H pylori the first time, and how to avoid getting it back again- among other things that you'll learn.

I hope that the book helps you, and I look forward to hearing about your progress in getting rid of H pylori for good this time.
