I had extensive blood work today and am trying to understand. Is MVV of 103 normal?

Abnormal MCV Blood Test Level

No, an MCV Blood test of 103 is not normal. As your lab result should tell you, this is a high level. And yes, a high MCV level of 103 is very meaningful and concerning. Please see my page on MCV Blood Test to see what this means and what you can do about it.

Yes ,I just looked at my blood test results and these numbers stood out. Should I get B12 shots along with the iron tablets I am already taking. I am a RA patient.
How I lowered my mcv

5 months ago I had mcv 103.2.
My doctor did not do a b12 test but I knew I was low due to my vegetarian diet and taking omepr a omeprazale.
I stopped the omeprazoke and took a 1000 mcg tablet of b12 for 5 months.
Retested, 92.2! So happy.

My mcv was 103.2.
I knew I had become vegan over the past year and my b12 level was 435 a year ago. I also took imeprazole for 4 months during that year. I told my doctor this but she refused to run a current b12 test and told me I was obviously an alcoholic and needed counseling. I had been drinking for several years after the death of my son but it had been well over a year since I had a drink. I did my own research. I took b12 supplements and added eggs back to my diet.
4 months later paid for a private blood test, my mcv back to normal at 92.2.
Needless to say I now have a new doctor.
