Type of Magnesium
by: Shawnda

Hi Kerri! I wanted to let you know that I ordered the Jigsaw Magnesium w/ SRT based on your recommendation. Because I was ready to try magnesium for my tight calf muscles (which were aggravating the tendonitis in my feet) right away, I also went to a local store and bought the only chelated magnesium I found, Source Naturals Magnesium Bis-Glycinate. Within 2 days, my calves felt so much better! Once the Jigsaw arrived, I switched to it, but my calves went back to being too tight and painful! I immediately switched back to the Source Naturals for relief! Later, I tried the Jigsaw magnesium again when I ran out of Source Naturals, and it had the same result -- painful, tight calves! Just wanted to let you know my experience. Thanks for your site!

That's why I recommend trying different types

That's why I ALSO recommend trying different types of magnesium and have said many many times, over the objections of many people who claim that such and such magnesium is 'the best', to find the right type of magnesium that works for YOU.

Also, just to make sure that it really is the magnesium and not the dosage, did you take the equivalent dosage? Not questioning what you feel, but different magnesiums have different dosages as well, and when interchanging between two different types, it's important to determine if your symptoms resolving or LACK of symptoms resolving with one kind or another is due to the different types of magnesium or whether it's due to a different dosage.

Thanks for sharing your experience, and I'm EXTREMELY happy that you found relief from your symptoms. These nutrients are powerful, and nutrient deficiencies are often not considered by doctors who don't have answers or help for problems such as tendonitis or painful achy calves.

Good point, Kerri!

I hadn't considered this previously. I just checked my bottles and both recommend 2 tablets twice a day, which is the dosage I took of each. For the Jigsaw, this is 500 mg of magnesium, and for the Source Naturals it is 400 mg of magnesium. So, it seems that it's just that the Source Naturals works better for me.

Thanks again!

My doctor had no idea

And, you're right -- I told my podiatrist about the tight painful calves and he had no ideas for what to do to help!
