I have no idea...
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Vidal,

I've not done any research on Nitric Oxide so I would have no idea about what actions magnesium has on it.

But if you have high blood pressure and are only taking 100 mg of magnesium, why not simply up the dose and add Vitamin D and Omega 3 fatty acids.

In western diets, we are EXTREMELY deficient in all three of these nutrients, and each of these has good research on bringing down blood pressure. And HBP is one of the very common Signs of Magnesium Deficiency.

So, I come from a place of getting down to the root cause of problems, and if you have high blood pressure, it's very likely that a deficiency in these nutrients is at the CORE of your problem in the first place- and all of these have an amazing amount of other benefits on heart functioning, longevity, stress response, etc.

So, start by getting your vitamin d level checked and getting it into the 'Optimum' range as outlined on my Vitamin D Levels page.

Then increase your magnesium as outlined on the Magnesium Dosage page. 100 mg is really just a 'token' amount and will not do anything. It's probably magnesium oxide as well- which is hardly even absorbed.

Don't bother to get a Magnesium Level or pay attention to the level if you've already had one done. As long as the level isn't HIGH, then the information from a blood test is worthless.

Then you can take Omega 3 Fatty Acid Supplements as well. I'm willing to bet that optimizing all of that will help with your blood pressure issues.

Interesting..
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Vidal,

Upon doing a quick search, I DID find an interesting study about magnesium and arginine. In This Study, they administered magnesium to diabetics and then gave arginine.

The arginine was actually taken up by the body better after magnesium administration! So, the magnesium may even make your arginine work BETTER. And this is not a surprise to me, if you take a look at the Magnesium Facts page, you'll see that sufficient magnesium is absolutely essential for the uptake of potassium and thiamine- and is also required for the conversion of vitamin d into it's active form in the blood.

So, arginine may be another nutrient that seems to be dependent upon magnesium sufficiency in order to work. It's ability to allow the uptake of arginine COULD explain some of magnesium's ability to regulate blood pressure!

Magnesium and Nitric Oxide
by: Vidal

Hello Kerri;
Thank you very much for answering my letter so quick.
The Magnesium that I take is Chelated form, so I believe is a very "absorbable" form.

I noticed some differences since I started to take it, for example, more energy and more frequent visits to the bathroom which is good because I was suffering form constipation

I discovered that I have HBP many years ago and since then I started to take meds for it, but is my goal to be free of them very soon, actually my doses are getting smaller.

Finding the cause of HBP became my "Passion" and i did a lot of research , actually I did so much that I thinking about writing a e-book about it.

A while ago I started to realize that almost every illness is related to some chemical reaction or deficiency, among other basic things and a lot of doctors are saying that you should eat this or that but they are not considering that food is not what it used to be, for example the amount of nutrient in spinach are 10 times lower compared to those 50, 40 even 30 years ago.

I'm a very healthy person, for example I found the way how to have a very strong immune system and the last time I had a cold or a Flu or anything in between it was in 1999.

So I agree with you, magnesium, among other minerals, plays a very important role in our bodies.

Sorry if I go all over with this leter but,I can be talking about natural health for days.

I'm one of those who think that if didn't have it before it means that something changed in my body so I need to make it work again, find what is missing, and so far it works.

Thank you.

You Sure it's only 100 mg...
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Dario,

Are you SURE that you are only taking 100 mg of magnesium? If you got that kind of positive reaction from only 100 mg, then it's likely that you are pretty severely deficient and could go up some more using the guidelines on my Magnesium Dosage page.

Or maybe the positive benefits that you experienced were from the sum total of the multivitamin that you are taking. Which is GREAT.

People who have never taken a High Quality Whole Food Multivitamin and who have illnesses just don't realize the benefits that they can get from finally correcting their nutritional deficiencies.

It sounds like you should start your own website!!

When I started this website, I had NO website tech knowledge (and still don't really), but I use a 'process' that teaches you how to build a successful website yourself based on your unique knowledge and passion. And I for one can attest that 'IT WORKS'.

I've now quit my job about 6 months ago and live off the proceeds of my website- as does my husband who has the website The Tendonitis Expert ! Take a look at the program that I use called Site Build It.

We're not the only ones that this program works for. Take a look at the Proof the Program Works for everyday people with no web experience. And believe me, neither one of us had ANY web experience.
