Intestistial Cystitis and Magnesium

by Barb Porter
(Casa Grande, Az.)

I take
600 mg. of Calcium Citrate
300 mg. of Magnesium Citrate
1000 IU's of Vitamin D every day.

I have interstitial cystitis and can't take vitamin B complex right now nor acidic Vitamin C either.

I have intense ringing in the ears, high anxiety, high blood pressure, Heart Palpitations, intense night leg Muscle Cramps.

The 300 mg. of Magnesium has helped some but I know I need more.

I have been on a cleanse for a month for to IC and Candida. I Have to drink A LOT of water to alkalanize. How much Magnesium do I need? I KNOW I am deficient. Slowly rebuilding my ability to take supplements as I heal from the Candida. Please Help I am in a

lot of pain. Thank You, Barb Porter

P.S. I thought the ringing in the ears was heavy mentals but now I really think is the Mag. Deficiency.

Yes, sounds like it..

Hi Barb,

Yes, it sounds like you do need more magnesium. Both Heart Palpitations and Muscle Cramps as well as the anxiety and ringing in your ears could all be from Magnesium Deficiency.

So, all you need to do is follow the guidelines on the Magnesium Dosage page if you want to increase your dosage.

Then, I have talked about Interstitial Cystitis a couple of times before- one of them here at this

Interstitial Cystitis and Gluten Intolerance

thread. The other one on Interstitial Cystitis and Vitamin D I can't seem to find. But if you have not had your Vitamin D Level checked, you should. 1000 IU's is a ridiculously low dose and is not likely to be meeting your daily Vitamin D Requirements. Adequate Vitamin D Levels can boost your immune system and help you to fight off infections better.

Also, there is a substance called D- mannose that I have written about it on a post entitled A Urinary Tract Infection Cure you can Count on. It makes the bladder wall slick so that bugs can't stick to it and some people with IC use it with great success.

You can see more about D Mannose here. Hope this helps.
