h pylori is it possible that a test will not show h pylori

I am very sick. I had an endoscopic ultrasound which results I was told are acute pancreatis and chronic inflammation of the stomach and small intestine. I have had classic symptoms of h pylori infection.

they took a biopsy but report that I do not have h pylori. When I read the symptoms, I have had all of them off and on for years.

Is it possible that the biopsy is wrong and I do have h pylori--how could I test for it again?

Biopsies are not accurate
by: Kerri Knox, RN

Biopsies are not accurate. IF they show that you have H pylori, then you have it. But if they do NOT show H pylori, then it's pretty meaningless. I'll explain why.

When they take a biopsy of your stomach, they just take a pinch of a single spot. Pinch. But H pylori is not uniform across your entire stomach, and it can infect in 'patches'. So, unless your doctor managed to get a biopsy in one of the 'patches' of H pylori in your stomach, then the biopsy can be negative.

The most accurate and easy to do test for H pylori is the H Pylori Stool Test.
