Drug Interactions and ANY vitamins...
by: Kerri Knox, RN-The Immune Health Queen!

Hi Betty Jane,

More About Vitamin D

Unfortunately, I'll be unable to answer your question. A question that has to do with nutrient and drug interactions- especially when they relate to PT/INR and Coumadin dosages REALLY needs to be run across the Pharmacist.

You can just call up any pharmacy and ask them. They have detailed computer programs that check for interactions.

Sorry that I couldn't help!

Coumadin and Vitamin D
by: Susan

Hi Betty Jane,

I have been taking Coumadin for just over 2 years and this is the first time my bloodwork showed a deficiency in Vitamin D. My doctor recommended taking a Vitamin D3 1000 I.U. supplement daily.

I would advise asking your doctor if this is safe for you as well. Since I've started taking coumadin I've also had to deal with a Potassium deficiency as well.
