Hi Heather,

Since you commented on my page about gluten sensitivity, I'm not even really sure why you are asking this question.

You have 'textbook' gluten sensitivity with all of the digestive problems. Skin problems are 'textbook gluten sensitivity' too as there are actually skin disorders that give people an 'automatic diagnosis' of full-blown Celiac Disease that can be diagnosed by a dermatologist.

It doesn't matter that no one else in your family doesn't have the skin problems- we're talking about YOU and YOU have these problems. Maybe your family is gluten sensitive too. Who knows.

But here's the invitation that you want- get off of gluten ASAP!! If your problems are 'debilitating' and you suspect gluten sensitivity, then get off of 100% of gluten ASAP!!!

You'll need help because it's not intuitive. So, please get the Essential Gluten Free Guide or something equivalent to walk you through going gluten free. You can't just do it on your own, you need a guide.

I just had to respond to your post.

Almost everything you wrote about is exactly what I went thru as well.
Skin itchiness. I went thru that for at least two years. Like you, I tried everything- different soaps, detergent, water filter, even thought it was a nut allergy. It was so depressing. The problem is gone now but I have about 20 small scars on each arm because of it.
Gassiness, bloating, etc.

THIS was the worst! I actually had to wear pants one size bigger than I needed to to get around my waist/stomach.

Nasal congestion. I had that and post nasal drip almost every morning to the point that I couldn't even talk on the phone because I would start gagging. I can't tell you how many times I had to tell my friends- I'll call you right back.

Anyway. YES, get off gluten!!

I have been gluten free for 11 weeks now and have lost 10 lbs. But what is even better than that is all of the above problems are GONE. I feel like a different person. There was times I was worried that I had some terrible disease. I hope that you have the same results as I have.

Take care.

Hi, I am gluten sensitive, as well as sensitive to sugar, vinegar, and yeast. I do not know what might help you but I can share what I have gone through.

I have been on this journey for about ten years now and more intensely in the last six years. I was in very poor health for about three years. Through much searching and next to no help from doctors I had to go to a naturapath and reflexologist. I have had very similar symptoms to you and more. It turned out that I had Candida. You might want to do a search on it. I also was not producing enough Hydrochloric acid and pepsin to digest the food I was eating and was becoming malnurished despite the exorbitant amount of supplements I was taking.

My health has very much improved but it is a daily thing, meal by meal. For a time I could not eat most things, dairy, gluten, most vegetables, vinegar, yeast, sugar, almost all fruit, red meat, anything processed, caffeine, alcohol, and anything fermented. It was pretty brutal but I had a lot of support. I would not have been able to do it without the help I received. I wish you all the best in your journey.

I now can eat a lot more things, but I still need to be careful with the gluten and the sugar.
I wish you good health.
