Could be Gluten Sensitive or Celiac?

by Michelle
(Savannah Ga.)

I have inflamed capillaries all over my body, bloating, gassiness, stuffy nose all the time, weight gain around the middle, puffiness, allergies to things I have never been allergic to before, and blisters that show up on my arms...they clear and itchy and burn when popped and take a long time to heal..

When they show up I have stomach pains and diarrhea. Does this sound like it could be Gluten Sensitivity or Celiac disease. Oh yeah I am short as well 4'9" and 46 years old and this has been going on for years. No one else in my family has it either.

Could Be a Lot of Things...
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Michelle,

It could be a LOT of different things, but obviously your doctors have not been able to figure this out if it has been going on for years, so it's time that you get to be the detective and figure it out.

The first and most obvious problem that it might be is food allergies. And while Gluten Sensitivity is the most likely culprit, other extremely common food allergies are:

Dairy
Corn
and
Soy

So, it would be great for you to go off of ALL of those for a couple of months and see if you feel better. Then you can add in different foods one-by-one and see if your symptoms return.

So, I suggest that you get the The Healthy Urban Kitchen book in order to help you learn how to eat without all of those foods.

You'll also get some recipes and meal plans to help you on your way to lower allergenic eating.

So, that's a good start. Give that a try and let me know if you have any questions.
