Childrena and Stomach cramps.

Children get stomach problems all of the time. Your worry is purely speculative unless the child tests positive for H pylori. And even if she does test positive, SHE could have had it for longer than you and it could have been the BABY that had it before you did and gave it to you! You'll never know, so stop worrying about it. This is not a 'disease' like Tuberculosis, it's a chronic infection that half the world has and doesn't even know it. Most people who have it don't even know it. The baby's MOTHER could have it, could have given it to the baby, and the baby could have given it to you! Again, you simply haven't the slightest idea.

So, stop worrying about it ENTIRELY. It is not worth your mental energy. You have zero idea how you got H pylori or who or why you got it from. If the baby's symptoms persist, they may want to test her for H pylori, but chances are she JUST had a self limiting case of diarrhea like most children will get at some point in their life. If her symptoms go away, there is zero reason to test her to find out if she has it. The ONLY reason to get rid of H pylori is if one is experiencing symptoms since some studies actually show chronic H pylori to have BENEFICIAL effects on health in some cases.

So, so worrying about it entirely. There is literally ZERO need for you to think about who gave you H pylori, how, or when. The ONLY reason to think about it EVER again is if the baby's symptoms persist, or if you get treated for H pylori two or three times and you are unable to eliminate it. Then you may want to test the rest of your family to see if anyone is an 'asymptomatic carrier' and keeps giving you H pylori back again. Otherwise, having H pylori, who gave it to you, or whether you are contagious or not (you are, and it's nothing to worry about) is not worth your mental energy in the slightest. You have been exposed to H pylori thousands of times, and you will be exposed to it thousands more times. And your granddaughter will be exposed to it thousands of times in her life. If you worried about being exposed to H pylori, you'd simply go insane, and you'd go insane over absolutely nothing.
