Can taking vit D2 50,000 units cause a person to have a food allergy reaction?

I am 38 years old and have never had a reaction to any foods, ever. I started the 50,000 units vit d2 a couple of weeks ago... Immediately felt energized and borderline hyperactive. I took my second dose a week from the first on a Thursday. Friday about 24 hours later, I had an anaphylactic reaction to one bite of a coconut chia seed bar. I've eaten coconut my entire life... The chia seeds were a newer food but I had eaten before. I just read someplace that vit d2 could increase allergic reactions and that the onset of action was about 24 hours after taking it due to he time I takes to metabolize in the liver. Could the vit d have contributed to making me more sensitive to foods or developing allergies?
Thanks,
Tiffany

Tiffany,

Vitamin D will not make you more sensitive to anything. You can have a reaction to Vitamin d, but you are NOT going to have a reaction to something else because you took 2 pills of vitamin d.

If you know where you 'read somewhere' that vitamin d can make you more sensitive to foods and be more likely to have an allergic reaction to something else, I'd be VERY interested in seeing it because it sounds like nonsense to me and I'd like to see where they get their information.

By the way, just because it's a coconut/chia bar doesn't mean that you had a reaction to the coconut or chia, it could have been another ingredient in the bar too!

Neither coconut nor chia are common allergens to have severe allergic reactions to, so it could very well have been something else.
