Answers to magnesium questions..
by: Kerri Knox, RN- The Immune Queen!

Hi Frank,

OK. I'll try to answer a few of your questions, and add a little bit of my own...

#1) I don't do drug interactions. There are computer programs at every pharmacy that can tell you that. Call any pharmacy and they would be able to tell you the answer to that.

#2) I don't know. Calcium and B12 for sure, magnesium? I don't know.

#4) No, Nexium is not in any way or shape a form of magnesium..

#3) Would magnesium be beneficial? It depends upon if you have any other health problems or Signs of Magnesium Deficiency. I doubt that it will improve your GERD if that is your question.

But now I have a question for you... If you know that it reduces acid and that that might contribute to malabsorption of nutrients, why are you taking it?

I know that you have reflux and that you feel that you need them, but do you REALLY? And what are the long-term consequences.

They also increase osteoporosis risk and Vitamin B12 Malabsorption.

So, what can you do? Read my page on Too Much Stomach Acid to see why it's likely that you have too LITTLE stomach acid and that you need to learn How to Increase Stomach Acid!!

Really! I'm serious...
